Gary specializes in the valuation of businesses and business interests including enterprise values; equity investments; tangible and intangible assets; options; liabilities and debt securities; and fairness and solvency opinions.

He has served as an expert on business and asset valuation issues in a variety of litigation and disputes and has provided testimony in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District Court, international arbitration forums and various state and local court jurisdictions.

During his 32+ years of providing valuation consulting services, Gary has had a very wide variety of experiences including providing services and serving in leadership positions at accounting firms, investment banks, and independent valuation and appraisal firms.

​Prior to starting his own business, Gary served in valuation services leadership positions at Arthur Andersen, Coopers & Lybrand, Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin, Standard & Poor's Corporate Value Consulting, American Appraisal Associates and Alvarez & Marsal Valuation Services. 

Gary has worked with clients across a wide variety of industries such as automotive & aerospace; specialty chemicals, compounds & materials; business & consumer services; construction, engineering & real estate development; minerals & building materials; banking, financial institutions and insurance; food & agricultural products; healthcare services & managed care; industrial machinery & equipment; water & energy infrastructure; transportation & logistics; medical equipment/devices; metals & metal fabrication; paper, plastics & packaging; and retail/wholesale distribution. 

Gary earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business in Chicago. 

Gary is a CFA Charterholder (Chartered Financial Analyst) and an Accredited Senior Appraiser in Business Valuation (ASA-BV), American Society of Appraisers. 

He is currently a member of the CFA Institute, CFA Society of Chicago, and American Society of Appraisers. He currently serves as a Member of the Business Valuation Committee and on the Board of Examiners of the American Society of Appraisers. 

Additional professional training has included earning the Certificate of Completion, American Society of Appraisers-Advanced Multidisciplinary Healthcare Valuation Education Program, passing the Series 7 and 63 securities exams administered by the NASD for General Securities Representatives and Agents and earning licensure as a Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois. 

In addition to his experience as a valuation consultant, he has 6+ years of experience as a civil engineer in Colorado and Illinois.
